There are many ways to connect seamless stainless steel pipes, each of which has its own unique application scenarios and advantages and disadvantages. The following are some common seamless stainless steel pipe connection methods:
1. Press-fit connection
Connection principle: Use a special rubber seal ring to install it in the U-shaped groove at the end of the press-fit pipe fitting, then insert the stainless steel pipe into the socket pipe fitting until the positioning step position, and use a special press tool to squeeze the U-shaped groove and the pressing parts on one or both sides. The rubber seal ring acts as a seal after being squeezed, and at the same time, the pipe fitting and the pipe material shrink and deform synchronously, which plays a role in positioning and fixing.
Advantages: easy and fast installation, reliable sealing, suitable for pipe connections from DN15 to DN100.
Disadvantages: non-removable.
2. Groove connection (clamp connection)
Connection principle: An annular groove is machined at the pipe joints of pipes, pipe fittings, etc., and then a sleeve-type quick connector is formed using components such as clamps, rubber sealing rings and fasteners. During installation, the special-shaped rubber sealing ring is inserted into the adjacent pipe ends and connected through the spliced clamp. The inner edge of the clamp is embedded in the groove and fastened by the fastener.
Advantages: It has unique flexibility, which makes the pipeline resistant to vibration, shrinkage and expansion; it is detachable and easy to replace or rotate the pipeline components.
Application scenarios: suitable for fire protection and self-built water supply projects, etc.
3. Ring pressure connection
Connection principle: A wide band sealing ring is set at the socket, and a special ring pressure tool is used to clamp the socket part to form an annular compression and tightening seal.
Advantages: Larger contact surface and strong sealing.
4. Welding connection
Connection principle: Align the welding grooves of the two pipe fittings, and then use welding equipment and corresponding welding processes to connect.
Advantages: High welding strength and firm connection; can be adjusted and repaired as needed, with good flexibility and adaptability.
Disadvantages: The installation process requires high requirements; welding conditions must be available on site, and open flames may be generated, which is restricted by the regulations prohibiting welding construction in the community.
Application scenarios: Applicable to cold water systems, piped drinking water systems, water treatment equipment systems, etc.
5. Threaded connection
Applicable to the connection of pipe fittings such as pipe joints, reducers (large and small heads), tees, and crosses.
Advantages: Simple connection, easy to disassemble and repair.
6. Flange connection
Connection principle: The connection of the pipe is achieved by annular argon arc welding of the flange and the pipe, and fastening with quick clamps or bolts.
Advantages: Safe and reliable, widely used in many fields.
7. Hard seal connection
Connection principle: Rely on the two metal inverted teeth in the pipe fitting to rivet and lock with the outer wall of the pipe to achieve a tight connection between metal and metal.
Advantages: Fundamentally eliminate the hidden dangers of water leakage caused by embrittlement, hardening, and aging of rubber seals; the connection is firm and stable.
Application scenarios: Applicable to home decoration, large flats, villas, etc.
In addition, there are some other connection methods such as compression connection, compression connection, union connection, push-on connection and push-thread connection, which also have certain application value in specific scenarios.
In general, the connection method of stainless steel seamless pipes should be selected according to specific application scenarios, pipe specifications, medium properties and installation conditions. When choosing a connection method, factors such as sealing performance, connection strength, installation convenience, disassembly and cost should be considered comprehensively.
